FreeClassifieds.com.au aim to make this website as clean and as user friendly as possible. To help make this happen FreeClassifieds.com.au has created guidelines for posting ads so everyone can enjoy using the site.

Individuals, corporations, and unincorporated organisations and institutions may use the services of FreeClassifieds.com.au for FREE, provided they adhere to the Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy and the Posting Rules set out here.

Ads that do not comply with our Posting Rules or violate the Terms of Use or Privacy Policy may be removed from the site at the discretion of FreeClassified.com.au. If an ad is reported to us, FreeClassifieds.com.au may temporarily suspend it until it is reviewed. If the ad has not breached our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy or Posting Rules we will reactivate the ad. FreeClassifieds.com.au reserves the right to close a User’s account at any time.

  1. General Advertisement Policies

To have your item advertised successfully, you must observe the following:

  1. You must be 18 years old or above. If you misrepresent your age or provide misleading information, we may delete your account including advertised items and bar you from using our site.
  2. You can only post once. FreeClassifieds.com.au allows only one (1) ad for any particular goods or services. Duplicate ads will be removed automatically. Repetitive actions are not permitted and may result in FreeClassifieds.com.au restricting your use of the website. If you want your ad to appear at the top of the listings, you simply cancel, then re-list your post.
  3. Use of the proper category. Choose the right category. FreeClassfieds.com.au provides a comprehensive choice of categories for you to choose from. Please check the list of goods and services that are not allowed to be advertised on FreeClassifieds.com.au  at paragraph 2(B) of these Posting Rules.
  4. Links to other website prohibited. Ads must not contain links to other websites. You can add images, video where permitted and text to your ads for greater exposure.
  5. No keyword spamming. Freeclassifieds.com.au does not allow keyword spamming. It makes ads difficult to read and unfair to other Users. Keyword spamming is the practice of listing lots of irrelevant phrases or words in an ad in an attempt to generate better search ranking results. FreeClassifieds.com.au reserves the right to remove any ad or post that is unfair or irrelevant, with or without notice.
  6. Ads posted in a language other than English. Ads are only accepted in English. If you prefer to use another language, we require a translation of your ad in your language in addition to English.
  7. Ads not properly descriptive. Ads that do not provide enough detail will be placed on hold or removed as this will create a poor browsing experience for our users.
  1. Prohibited Advertisements

Freeclassifieds.com.au has compiled a list of goods and services that are prohibited from being advertised on the website. This list is not exclusive. Advertisements may be prohibited because they:

  • Breach FreeClassifieds.com.au Terms of Use, Posting Policy or Privacy Policy;
  • Breach the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia or the State of Victoria;
  • Are goods or services that are listed under “Prohibited Advertisements”, in paragraph 2(b) of this Posting Policies.

Prohibited advertisements are:

  1. Advertisements  that are discriminatory (directed upon race, religion, nationality or gender)
  2. The following goods or services are not allowed to be advertised on this site:
  1. Goods that are classified as alcoholic beverages;
  2. Illegal drugs or controlled substances; items used to manufacture illegal drugs or controlled substances; and drug paraphernalia. This includes drugs that require Therapeutic Goods Administration approval; prescription drugs and devices; non-prescription drugs; and drugs which make misleading or false treatment claims;
  3. Replicas or knock-off brands of goods; counterfeit products;
  4. Goods or services that are considered hazardous or  toxic and that could endanger the life of persons (including but not limited to explosive, toxic and radioactive materials);
  5. Body parts, blood, bodily fluids;
  6. Any adoption or surrogacy service;
  7. Animals that are considered endangered or belong to a protected species, or any part of any endangered or protected species; plants and insects that are a restricted or regulated species;
  8. Prostitution or escort services or any ad that suggests sexual services will offered in exchange for money or any goods or service;
  9. Electronic Surveillance Equipment; equipment or devices used for illegal telecommunication services and facilities, including electronics equipment such as access cards, password sniffers, radar scanners, traffic signal control devices, cable descramblers or burglary tools;
  10. Highly regulated goods or services such as explosives, destructive devices and fireworks;
  11. Documents and licences, uniforms, government and transport badges and IDs;
  12. Material that infringes copyright, including but not limited to software or other digital products or media;
  13. Personal information, identity documents and personal financial records
  14. Embargoed goods and stolen property;
  15. Tobacco products and related goods or services;
  16. Inappropriate language or photos/images;
  17. Any material that is obscene, pornographic, offensive, defamatory, threatening, or abusive or images that contain nudity which is harmful to minors;
  18. Illegal goods  or services which facilitate illegal activity
  19. Any goods or services that are illegal, harmful or require a special government permit before they can be advertised publicly are prohibited This includes:
    1. Items issued by or to any Armed Force that have not been disposed of in accordance with that country's demilitarisation policies.
    2. Lottery tickets, sweepstakes entries and Poker Machines.
    3. New merchandise or services from network marketing companies, work-from-home, independent distributors or franchisees, or similar representatives.
    4. Mailing lists or personal information. We do not advertise the sale of bulk email, Internet Protocol (IP), Instant Messenger (IM), or mailing lists that contain names, addresses, phone numbers, or other personal identifying information. Any tools or software designed to send unsolicited commercial messages such as spam are prohibited.
    5. Selling or offering services for medicine/supplements/ for pharmaceutical or general use.
    6. Pesticides or any hazardous chemical materials.
    7. Recalled goods (for information visit https://www.recalls.gov.au).
    8. Shares, bonds, stocks and other securities listed or capable of being listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
    9. Used cosmetics.
    10. Used or rebuilt batteries, or batteries containing mercury;
    11. Weapons and related items (including, but not limited to firearms, firearm accessories, ammunition, magazines and firearms parts, paintball guns, pellet and BB guns, tear gas, tasers, stun guns, switchblade knives, spear guns, martial arts weapons, archery and/or bow and arrow equipment).

Users must be responsible in the use of FreeClassifieds.com.au platform and advertising services.
